Dye Sublimation On Printed Mugs Allows You To Get Photographic Images Onto Promotional Gifts

The purpose of these mugs is to carry a corporate image or brand and keep it in the forefront of a client's consciousness for a prolonged period of time. It must therefore be attractive and interesting which is not always possible with these traditional methods.

One of the most effective printing processes used on promotional mugs these days is dye sublimation. This is a way of reproducing full colour photographic images onto the surface of a mug resulting in a stunning promotional product. It also enables much more vibrant colours to be produced as they are not dulled by the firing process as other printed images are. Mugs produced using dye sublimation are usually referred to as photo mugs.

Designs are first printed onto a carrier paper using specially developed ink which is then transferred to the surface of the mug by a heat process. This causes the ink to vaporise and permanently dye the mug with the design. The result of this is a high quality image that cannot be matched by other printing methods. As the image can be prone to fading over time it is possible to obtain mugs that are protected by a clear glaze that makes them dishwasher safe for over 1000 cycles and last ten times longer but this will be reflected in a higher cost.

These printed mugs can be used for events to promote a specific brand or they can be printed with attractive images and sold as fund raisers for charity events. Either way the recipients will feel that they have a quality item that is worth keeping for a long time.
