Epson Printer Customer Complaints

Despite the popularity of Epson products, a large number of customer complaints are often made against Epson printers. Some customers have even gone to the extent of filing lawsuits against Epson. The main accusation with which Epson has been charged is that its machines are designed to consume much more ink than usual. They are found to stop functioning even when there are sufficient levels of ink left. Many people have reported that the warning lights turn on just after a small number of prints, in spite of the actual volume left. Customers believe that it is a plan by Epson to promote the ink business.

In addition, there are plenty of customer complaints against Epson photo printers which simultaneously need eight cartridges to operate. Then there are certain print quality problems frequently reported by the customers. In order to resolve such problems, the customers are advised by the customer service to perform multiple cleaning cycles which result in the consumption of large amounts of ink, hence causing a lot of expenditure.

Many customers have been found to be disappointed with DVD printing, whereby the prints are of poor quality, dull and drab. Prints obtained are darker than usual and the colors are modified often with a reddish tinge. Generally, people are disappointed with the excessive failed prints and numerous errors encountered while printing. They consider it a sheer waste of time, energy and money. Users complain that in order to get a single print out, they have to try at least thrice. The Epson printers are accused of causing considerable frustration to the users, owing to the mechanical problems and quality of prints.

A few customers have also faced trouble in paper handling with particular models. According to them, the printer generates excessive warning against incorrect loading, and loading the paper again and again is a tedious task in itself. The printed papers are often found marked with the stains produced by wheels. Users are often faced with substantial difficulties while loading the papers.

The most common and widely quoted complaint is that the ink they employ is the most expensive one, and if the users try to replace it with a cheaper one, lesser number of prints is produced. One has to keep extra cartridges ready to be used in case of emergency, because the machine runs out of it too often. The heads of the printer need to be cleaned regularly, which results in further wastage of ink. In their reviews, customers often remark that the Epson product is not worth its price. These are generally considered too expensive especially the Epson Stylus Photo R800. Many users complain that the settings are too complicated to be understood, and the user manual does not give adequate explanations about applying the settings. Even the most costly models do not print heavy material.
