Brother Mfc-9420Cn – Color Network Laser Printer
For the small to medium sized business that requires the speed of a laser along with full color printing capabilities in an all in one unit, Brother offers the MFC-9420CN that not only functions quickly and easily, it does so in full, brilliant color at laser speeds.
When people think of incoming faxes they often think of muddy grey and white images with ghosting and other artifacts present on the poor quality reproduction. This simply isn’t the case when dealing with the Brother MFC-9420CN. The high quality print hardware will not only keep your faxes crisp and clean, it can output them in color. Thanks to the 33.6K bps Super G3 fax modem your transmission speeds will reach up to 3 seconds per page, and the fax page memory can hold up to 400 pages worth of data in black and white or color.
Color laser technology can produce images not only in a full range of colors, it can do it quickly. The Brother MFC-9420CN can do it at a speed of up to 8 pages per minute and, if you’re only printing in black and white, the hardware can output a swift 31 pages per minute. Whether dealing in monochrome or color, the print quality can be adjusted up to a stunning 2400 X 600 dots per inchresolution, which will make your text and graphics look professional, and color images eye catching. A standard on board memory of 64 MBs can also aid large individual print jobs or multiple incoming jobs in running smoothly, which is key when dealing with a multiple user network.
If your network is stressing the printer with a constant incoming bombardment of printing tasks from multiple sources, an upgrade in memory might be in order. The MFC-9420CN makes this more than possible with optional memory upgrades all the way up to 576 MBs. With additional memory, the fax page memory can also be turned up to 500 sheets.
Thanks to the Ethernet port it’s possible that your MFC-9420CN may be tested for stability. Not to worry, as the unit was built to last and boasts a maximum monthly duty cycle of up to 30,000 pages, though Brother recommends 500 to 2,500 and, speaking of stability, buyer should be warned, this unit is not exactly size friendly for a home office. The robust unit weighs a crushing 76.7 pounds! That’s almost twice as much as its black and white counterparts. The “footprint” is more like a tank track, measuring 19” X 20.2” X 21” in dimension.
The flatbed design also demands space of its own, if you consider accommodating a large flip open lid that requires airspace, and reveals a hefty, legal sized document glass that can fit a whole 14” piece of paper. You can imagine that you’re not going to be tucking this one down by your feet under the desk. If your office has plenty of usable space, however, and you require a unit fully loaded with the best of what Brother has to offer, then the Brother MFC-9420CN should definitely be in the running for your color printer of choice.
