Printer Cables are nothing but the wires and cables which connect the computer and the printer together. It communicates between the computer and the printer. It takes the command from the computer, to the printer and then reports the progress to the computer. Basically it is nothing but a link from the computer to the printer. There are a few different types of printer cables. And a few of these kinds have already become obsolete and can be found only in very old computers and not in the new computers. One such model is called the parallel model printer cables. These have become so old and outdated that it has been considered legendary and cannot be found in any of the new computers. Moreover compared to the new technological improvements, the old cables are of time consuming kinds. If you still own a printer which supports only Parallel printer cable, not to worry about it, there are converters for old jacks and pins. You can use one of them to convert your parallel printer cord to USB and use it anywhere you want.

There is a type of printer cable called the FireWire cables. These are too fast for printers and seem very unnecessary to waste so much for the printer. Only a few computers might have this jack in them. The most commonly used printer cables are the RS-232 and the EIA-422 printer cables. Basically printer cables were sold along with the printer, but lately after the mass production in cities, printer cables have been separately sold in the market.
