Thermal Labels: for Inexpensive Labeling Solutions
In medium to large-scale companies thermal labels are generally used for the compatibility of these labels with various kinds of thermal printers. The main advantage of thermal labels is cost reduction. Besides, these can be printed using relatively inexpensive printing processes, thereby reducing the production cost even more.
In thermal label printers direct thermal technology is used. Since direct thermal prints start fading after six to twelve months, they are apt for short duration applications in printing address labels. Direct exposure to sunlight and chemical vapors may affect thermal labels.
Thermal labels are made with standard paper and polypropylene. There are two types of thermal labels. One is the direct thermal label and the other is the standard thermal label. Direct thermal printing does not require any ribbons to print. A direct transfer label also has a heat-sensitive property by virtue of which it turns black when it reaches a certain temperature.
The coated direct thermal paper labels are of wide usage in the indoor environments. Direct sunlight has an adverse effect on the product which causes the product to darken. The costs of direct thermal labels are more than standard thermal transfer labels. When one starts comparing the cost of thermal transfer labels and a ribbon with direct thermal, a conspicuous difference is noticed.
From better companies you will get direct thermal paper labels in standard paper, removable adhesive direct thermal labels, and piggyback direct thermal labels. These are required for better products and are bought for intricate works. There are certain kinds of direct thermal Polypropylene labels which are produced for a more rugged use than the standard direct thermal labels. Direct thermal labels are usually used where the label is not long-lasting. They are also used for making address labels, shipping labels and any temporary application. Direct thermal labels are unsuitable for outdoor usages. The direct thermal labels are coated for high quality printing and are usually used where a ribbon is not necessary. The direct thermal labels are available in various sizes and with borders and solid colors.
There is another kind of labels called removable adhesive direct thermal labels. The adhesive which is present on these labels allow you to use the direct thermal label to an item and then remove it when required. There are certain direct thermal paper labels which are produced by combining 2 layers of labels. This label may be applied to an object and afterwards the top label is removed & it is applied elsewhere. The direct thermal label is prepared from synthetic material and is generally used where the environment is unsuitable for standard direct thermal labels.
The direct thermal labels are used for the compatibility with thermal printers. They are also available in white and three solid colors. There are wide varieties of thermal labels and is usually sold with the name thermal printers. The thermal labels are obtainable in either rolls or fan-folded packs. They are generally available in popular label sizes and some are found as continuous material.
